Lets Save Fuel, and Close Schools!
In Atlanta, Georgia, parents had to look for babysitters because on friday, the governor requested to save gas by taking two "Snow Days." Governor Sonny Perdue estimated that about 250, 000 gallons of gas would be saved by the closing of the schools for Monday and Tuesday. This will make less driving for teachers, parents, and school bus drivers. However, most parents were frustrated because they still want to work and their kids had no where to go. Other parents supported Perdue's decision. Is this a good way to conserve fuel? Insterestingly enough, all except 3 of the 181 state's district agreed.Posted: 2:47 p.m. EST September 26, 2005 by Mari Fernandez
