Well, today I went to Steve Madden in Dadeland Mall and I had the most frustrating experience. I returned shoes that I purchased 3 days ago. I brought the receipt and when I gave it to the employee, she explained that I will be receiving a check for $80.00 through the mail. So why not give me the money back instantly??? "It's store policy, " she said. I don't agree with that policy, especially if you pay cash. They win and the consumer loses. I know what they want is to create frustration so the consumers can lose patience and decide to get store credit. I sure didn't. She asked me several times if I was sure I didn't want store credit because the check will take 2-3 weeks for me to receive it. I was so annoyed, I actually thought about getting store credit, since it's faster. But wait, why fall into their trap. Then they still win because they will not lose any money. Is it fair for a consumer to have to wait that long for their money if they pay with cash, a debit card, and a check card with a Visa or Mastercard logo. I understand if the consumer pays with a check, but how can they not give cash back if the consumer pays with cash.

"The only way you get your money back instantly at Steve Madden is if you pay with a major credit card, " the employee said. I thought CASH always had a better outcome. I definitely will think twice to purchase another pair of shoes at Steve Madden. Their selfish and obviously are extremely slow with customer service.

There are many other shoe stores that are willing to give you a cash refund instantly when you pay cash and bring your receipt. Good bye Steve Madden.
