Just a Foolish Observation
Why do fools fall in love? Why do you like fooling ourselves? What's up with April Fools Day? You see some correlation here? Lets talk bout Foolish-ness and why people do it! Oh you think you don't fool yourself? I bet you have one way or another.
Just the other day, I used a smaller spoon in order to seem like I was eating more ice cream. Why? Well if I would have used a bigger spoon I would have finished my icy delight within 6 bites as opposed to the 15 small tea spoonfuls I enjoyed as I pretended I was eating alot.
The other day my girlfriend told me that she still is with her boyfriend even though he is crazy. She knows the saying "once a cheater always cheater" and "once he hits you its going to happen again sometime in the future" but she tells herself he'll change. He won't we know, but okay.
Far along from the extremeties of lying to thyself, lets talk about why humans do this. "Because we can!" We tell people white lies everyday. Even for the modest honest monster I am, I do find myself lying to some people that I don't know.
I used to make the time to be extra honest to everyone until I saw on the History channel that Mark Twain said "Be honest to those that matter." Now if you matter why would "you" lie to "you"? I still have no clue but it's just an foolish observation I guess. Blase' it's not for me to say. Just don't be Foolish!
