The Forbidden Crucifix
In the UK, Sam Morris, a 16-year-old girl was forbidden to wear a crucifix to school, however other teenagers that practice Sikhs are allowed to carry kirpan daggers and bracelets. Sam was sent home when she rejected to remove the gold cross necklace.

Sam Morris attends Sinfin Community School and was explained that because wearing a crucifix isn't mandatory for the Christian religion and it's not part of the dress code, she needed to put it away. Sam missed two days of school, and unfortunately will not be able to wear her crucifix during school time. She's been wearing the necklace for three years and wasn't using it for fashion purposed but for faith.
Unfortunately, Sinfin's principal stated that many of the students understand that allowing Sikhs
to wear their metal bracelets is obligatory for their religion. Since Christianity does not demand this from their followers, then no one is allowed to wear a crucifix in Sinfin Community School.

Religion will always cause conflict, even in the most minimal ways. I feel that if Sam is using it for faith and religious reasons, she shouldn't be banned from wearing it. She's not preaching, and if one religion is allowed then why not the other.
