Marijuana in Owl Helps Save Wild Animal Sanctuary!
Multiple blood tests helped confirmed that indeed an Owl that was hiding out in the Christmas Tree was certainly "high!"
A Sarasota, Florida family waited 5 days after getting their Christmas Tree to decorate when they found a little screech owl.
The little screech owl was found in the tree, which the family had kept for five days before deciding to decorate it.
Pelican Man's Bird Sanctuary sent animal control officers that came to get the owl, and that's when they smelled a marijuana type of odor.
"Curiously enough, the owl's feathers smelled very, very potently like marijuana", said Jeff Dering, of the sanctuary. "They examined the owl, looked at its eyes, ... and the owl was, in the vernacular, stoned."
Many blood tests confirmed the owl's state. Now his name is "Cheech" appropriately named by the Sanctuary.
The Sanctuary was also in need of money that the owl has helped with making it an early holiday gift because of all the press and attention this Buzzed Bird has brought in alot of money which guarantees the Sanctuary's Survival.
