When I was little I used to think... - w4mw - 25 (Chicago)
Was my posting. I asked who ever was willing to share to fill it in...
When I was little I used to think ___________.
I’ll begin with mine.
I used to think celebrities never really kissed but they had plastic wrap between their mouths because I could never accept two people who I knew were not married would kiss. For instance, when I saw Heather Locklear kissing another guy in a scene, yet I knew she was married to someone else I thought for sure, that there must have been a piece of plastic between the actors somewhere.
I used to think all people were good, until I heard someone talking shit about a good friend of mine.
I used to think I could never get hurt by a guy, and my dad cheated on my mom...which hurt me.
Go on..what did you used to think. I'm all ears. Just curious. It was on some radio show tonight driving home from the Union Pacific Metra station at about 7pm.

Below are the following shared ideas of the writers below.
“I used to think ...that the word mingle meant a person stood totally still while a group of people inspected them from head to toe. I used to think my dog was given away to the gardener until my mom just recently told me he was run over.
I also used to think the mailman personally delivered every piece of mail from start to finish.”

“when I was little, I thought the survival of the fittest was the king. That’s where you had to watch your back because you never know when you’re going to go.
When I was little I wish I could have had dreamt about Hollywood Starlets kissing Hollywood hunks when AIDS was just an epidemic. When I was little thank god I was given a book that said only true happiness came from the inside -out and if you try to change that, that’s when it gets twisted. You can only keep giving love with no thought of its return and if that loves not enough, you have to just keep giving... well that’s my hundred bucks worth thought of the day - bless ya”

“....that the signs on the side of the road that read "Pass with Care", meant that an animal had been hit there, so those driving by should pass with 'care' and sadness and love maybe in remembrance. One time I decided to go dig one of the animals up, out of child's curiosity...and tried to dig next to the signs, where I assumed it would be buried. My dad caught me and asked me what I was doing...when I told him and looked at me like I was the most naive thing ever ( I think I was like 8 at the time) and told me the truth behind the signs. “

“I used to think I would grow up to be a writer.
I used to think once I graduated from college, I would experience much less stress in life.
I used to think I would be in a relationship that is as perfect as it's portrayed in the movies.
I used to think that 25 years old, was old!”

“... circus clowns were real people that had somewhat odd deformities and therefore could only get jobs at, or live in, the circus, where they would make everyone laugh and be happy. “
-Mark K
“When I was little, I used to think about what the people would do on TV when they
went behind closed doors, like into a bedroom.” Then I asked. I was about 7. "What are they doing in the room?" "They're having sex." Oh, well, yeah, that explained it.
-Sotello
“...that god mattered. that we had to live good lives or we'd bepunished. I no longer believe we'll be punished, if there's a god, she/he is really busy and distracted right now, so I try to live right because it makes me happy. I used to think that nearly everyone saw things mostly the way I did. And that common sense said you don't discriminate on race, ethnicity, sexual preference...or tell women what to do with their bodies. The last decade has abused me of that view...to be sure. -Scott
When I was little, I thought that being a businessman would be the "coolest." Now that I am, I can't help but think - what was I thinking?
When I was little, I didn't want anything to do with my little brother. Now, I want to be more involved, but it's the circumstances and life situations that get in the way.
