You want a rewarding Job? Check this . . .

What is a rewarding job? Is it being able to flaunt your wealth or name drop about many celebrities you've worked with? Maybe it's being able to make nice designs that others only dream they had the knowlege to turn their visions into projects and projects into masterpieces.

I'll tell you I have had a job for over a year at a fine company indeed. I mean, it must have and it was in Chicago where I would commute over 70 miles to work. Yes, the people I worked with were great, I had many peers to learn with and exchange ideas with as well as learn from other managers. I met the CEO which has 300,000 people in over 50 different countries working with him. This had to be the biggest honor and it was. Was this job rewarding? Yes, but you know what else made it more rewarding?

People like Dean and Dave. Who are they? Well remember when I spoke about the almost 2 hour commute by 2 hour commute to work? Well they were the greatest guys ever that I would spend a few moments with on the Metra train. Dave always had his little smile, and with our little chats it was great to see someone that was happy doing what he does everyday as a conductor, and someone that was very courteous to others. Who is Dean? Dean and Dave were on the same 10:25 am train from Elburn-Chicago! Dean always gave me a piece of candy each day. He would motivate me each day with work, talk about his daughter and grandson. He even talked about his mother and law and how he wanted to keep her near. That gave me more reason to want to go to work. How hard is it already to live on your own. I still am able to live with my mom and occassionally dad.

Through our chats I realized alot of things. I realized that the weekend can only be better, to smile more, that this day can be a great day. I mean, do you know how rewarding this is? I'll tell you 4 hours a day of commuting can be the worst but I met really great people like Dean and Dave, as well as Mr. Robinson and Corey who I have not forgotten. I also met many great strangers who I may or may never see again but together we have changed each others lives in some way. It's great to see that Metra is lucky to have great guys like all the conductors I have been fortunate to meet.

Metra should be called Mentor pretty soon if they keep finding great individuals like them because little words of inspiration, and smiles really help. There is also another conductor that I do not know the name of but he is GREAT TOO! He is on the 8:40 pm train from Chicago - Elburn. Some might categorize him as weird because when he makes announcements he shifts his voice to be more animated but it comes out sounding like a narrator in a scary story.

All in all, they give you your space when they know you need it but they give you the extra inspiration and attention when they know you just can't find it. I should send this letter in to Metra to give them some bonus'! A rewarding job is not something 9 to 5 but the extra time you give to other people. Especially people that you usually never would have expected to need encouragement.

LOVE YOU GUYS!

Dean, even my boyfriend likes you :)
